Alix Baril was raised in the suburbs of Arcadia, and brought up with differing sensibilities- which have inspired her tastes in makeup and fashion, thus influencing her art and her as a person. She has always had a unique sense of style- one of her biggest influences comes from the theater which has aided in her affinity for creating interesting and unique works of art with the application of cosmetics. Other major influences on her work come from vintage literature such as the writings of William Shakespeare, and Vladimir Nabokov- as well as 1940's glamour and early 1900's Americana. She is an alumni of Make-Up Designory in Burbank, CA and has experience in film, print, and charity events- she has also worked with industry professionals Deverill Weekes and Derek Althen. She is very fond of the theater, but she hopes to work predominantly in print because she enjoys the longevity of photos and the joy and inspiration they may bring others.
