Introduction:
Hi, my name is Peter - I am a semi-professional photographer and here's why . I have been involved with photography for more than thirty years. It has been my ambition to have my own studio for several years, this goal was realized in 2007. As a fledgling studio I kept my day job, which was shrewd to say the least. My wife, who because of her health, is permanently disabled, manned the studio while I was at work, fielding enquiries, making apointments and taking bookings - working around my work schedule. Business was good, not enough to quit work but I was making a good name for myself and I was able to pay the bills. Great! However, about a year after we opened the studio my wife's health deteriorated further, to the point where she needed major surgery and was out of action for three months. I had to make a decision - close the studio, keep my day job and take of her - which I did. Now, we are in a position to reopen a studio once more, only this time it will be attached to my house - lower overheads - Yippee! This is still in the planning stage but should be operational in the middle of this year. It will be much smaller than my 2,500 sq/ft studio that I enjoyed before but more managable.
Direction:
As you will see from my website (www.vividimagespix.com) I was primarily involved with seniors, children, portraits and weddings - the standard stuff. So the question you might ask is, why not continue in these fields? This a small town and with the introduction of more affordable digital cameras with higher megapixels and equally affordable computer software many parents and families are resorting to doing their own pictures, not always with the best results. To make a point I had 6 weddings booked last year - all cancelled because "Uncle Tom had an easy share camera and was pretty good with it so we'll get him to do our pics." Without exception all wished they had gone with me as planned. 'Cest la vie.' Seniors are the same way. So I am considering a drastic change of direction. Why?
Goals:
I was asked recently if I was prepared to take lingerie photography for Valentine's day for a number of woman. This pointed me in the way I might re-invent myself. This is an appealing prospect. So here I am.
Model requirements & Styles:
At the present I am fielding enquiries only - wanting to establish a model base with whom I will be wanting to use later in the year. PLease be patient.
Primarily I am wanting to shoot;
Lingerie
Boudoir
swimsuit
Artistic nudes
Tasteful semi-nude
Models, ideally should be in the 25-45yr age group. However, please understand that you do NOT have to fill all the styles mentioned above. If you only fill one or two feel free to contact me if interested. I don't need you tell my why you will not do a ceratin style, your decision is private and I respect that. Also if your age is outside that of which I have outlined - again please contact me. If you have the look I am looking for then we still might be able to work together. If you are 18-20 yrs old you will be required to provide two forms of photo I.D. No exceptions. I have been involved in the retail industry for many years and I can spot fake or forged I.Ds a mile off. If I am unconvinced that you are genuine you will be sent home.
When contacting me please give as much detail as possible as what you are prepared to do. You will be treated with the utmost respect and dignity. I DO NOT AND WILL NOT DO PORNOGRAPHY. Everything that I am aiming for will be tastefully done.
What I require is that you are confident in front of the camera and comfortable with your appearance. If not you can guarrantee that the feeling of unease will transfer itself into your face and eyes - and the look I am seeking will not be there.
I have definate ideas of what I want to do and I will work with you to achieve what I want. I take my time to get the pose and the look that I need.
What's in it for you?
I am prepared to pay an hourly rate for your service plus help with travelling expenses. Also, after editing you will receive a C.D of selected poses which you will be given full rights to for your own personal and professional use. You will be asked to sign a release giving me permision to add your images to my portfolio, website and to use them in promotional advertizing.
