About Me

A little bit about me:
With my recent career changed from critical care nurse to a full time Anesthesia student, my photography shooting career came to a temporary adjustment status. I'm trying to balance between my study and photo shooting, hoping for a happy medium so that I can get a little bit financial support to my school career.

I've been doing landscape photography for a long time before I stepped into the people photography six years ago when my son Erik was born. Although the landscape is full of exiting experience, it requires a lot of time and travel to get the work done. I like studio shot better because it has relatively easier light control and less adverse effect from the environment (Don’t have to wait for hours or days for the best moment to shoot).

My understanding of photography:
To my humble opinion, people photography is not some "I've been here" or “Aloha" pictures with some smiley faces. The soul of the people photography is to show your subject’s personality, to tell the story behind the picture. Each individual is different and it is a great challenge to start fresh with a new model for each assignment. A photo assignment without knowing your model is a failed assignment.
Without light, photography loses its meaning. A good light setting is the key to a successful portrait picture. Portraits shot will not be successful without carefully consider light setup, and most of the time it is a gradually improved process in order to achieve the best visual effect.

What I can do for you:
I'm currently interested in studio shots, modeling or other types of shots where studio lights are being used in a limited space (A studio environment) to better control the visual effect. Engagement shots and senior portrait shots are possible with pre-scheduling. Trip and mobile assignments will also be considered but highly depend on time frame and distance of travel.
I’m not the person who sets in the mall to charge you by simply press the shutter button with a cliché setup. I tend to be creative and make an art piece out of it. I do respect your time being there and I also expect your respecting of my work. I'd prefer paid assignment although TFCD will be considered if you are at the beginning of your career and desperately need some port shots to start with.

Contact and Scheduling:
My schedule is tight because school is always busy with book readings and tests, and I have to use my time wisely. I have some studio shot portfolio put up on my website and be sure to check the portraits and portfolio section for my recent shots. You will have a brief idea of my photography style by the time you contact me.
