My name is Laura and I am a fashion design student/makeup artist. I have been attending NCSU at the College of textiles for fashion design and product development. While pursuing such ambitions and gaining experience in the industry- I worked as a makeup artist right out of high school, making it my part time job while in college. I've always merged both passions believing they truly go hand in hand. I have still been working on developing my own clothing line (LANIK) while immersing myself in the cosmetics industry. In 2008, I organized, designed for, and hosted a fashion show at NCSU for diabetes research and later moved to New York for a semester to intern at Chanel in Public Relations. While gaining experience with one of the industry's leading fashion houses, I was able to work as a freelance makeup artist for Chanel during that time. It was without a doubt one of he most amazing experiences I have ever had. Since then I have worked for companies such as Laura Mercier, Benefit Cosmetics, and am currently working as a makeup artist for Bobbi Brown at Saks Fifth Avenue here in Raleigh. My experience has been accumulated over the course of 5-6 years. However, I continue to grow on a daily basis, absorbing new techniques and knowledge within the industries that drive both of my passions. I do bridal makeup and photo shoots as well so if you are looking for a makeup artist please do no hesitate to contact me. I am focused, easy to work with, and am always up for a challenge. I love high-fashion/editorial shoots but am open for whatever your needs are. If there's something I haven't tried, I'll go for it. I love edgy, controversial, or unusual ideas...
