Portrait photographer Julie Thomas grew up living in the family darkroom. She further studied traditional camera and darkroom techniques by working many summers in the darkroom of a master photographer, and former student of Ansel Adams, before obtaining a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Art History. As digital technology evolved, Julie has been at the forefront of digital photography techniques and creating photographic artworks through an extensive knowledge of post-production Photoshop techniques.

Julie specializes in high-end children's, maternity and high school senior portraits from traditional to edgy, in-studio and on location. Another particular specialty is dance images, specifically of pre-professional and professional ballet dancers. Julie also has several commercial clients ranging from clothing catalogs, fitness studios and cosmetic dentistry promotional images.

At this time, Julie is interested in working with male and female models of high school senior/early college age who can project a high school senior look. These images can range from traditional studio portraits to modern, edgy location shots. She is also interested in working with pre-professional and professional dancers who would like to model for traditional, modern or edgy dance portraits, both in the studio and on location.

These images will used to test new creative ideas before trying with paying clients and for new project portfolio. Other models may be needed for specific commercial work, or artistic projects.
