I'm Mel, a self taught creative photographer, and also the Co-founder/Editor/interviewer & reviewer of 'Mudkiss' music fanzine, which I created in June 2008, but my real passion lies in my photography.

My first ever band photo was a punk band from Manchester called Slaughter And The Dogs, taken on June 25th 1977 @ Wigan Casino, through a haze of smoke, talcum power, spit, beer slinging, and frenzied atmosphere. And I have rarely been anywhere since without my trusty camera. It's a love affair that continues to develop with me.

Since the development of the internet and digital format I've become increasing interested in photoshop techniques, composition, getting quality shots. Over the past six months I've been concentrating on building my portfolio with photoshoots involving either bands or models.

Currently I am available on Fridays, weekends and some evenings within the North West of the UK. I can mail you a set of contact sheets shortly after the shoot, for you to select the final ones for editing. This would generally be around 15 - 20 images, dependant on the length of the shoot, which can be anything from one to two hours. I can either e-mail or send them on a disc when completed. It's always advisable to discuss beforehand your exact requirements for the shoot. I have a portable indoor studio, (which I would need to bring to you) but can also do location shoots. A small deposit via paypal will secure the appointment for both parties, but I can also with advance notice change dates. We may want to use you for the next Mudkiss cover girl or guy - get in touch!
