Dani Olivier was born in Paris in 1969. He studied mathematics and management as a second education. Photo was his hobby since he was a teenager. He created the Multimedia Press Group in 1997, a publishing company specialized in magazines and books on the French market.

The book "abstract nudes", a selection of 200 of his best photos is planned to be published in France in June. An exhibition at the Paris fashion institute "Studio mode Paris" will follow in June.

Dani Olivier about his art:

Nude is a very noble kind in all graphic arts, it is for me the most interrresing subject. I try to focus only on the body, its lines and movements : no accessories, minimal make up, no background. Just a naked body and lights.

My goal is to create esthetic new images, a style that has not been seen before. It is for me the definition of the plastic artist. In photography, a lot has been seen and done, that's why I created and developed my own techniques. My method is to improve my work step by step, using an empiric approach. I test new ideas and techniques, and if they lead to an interesting result, I add them to my graphic knowledge and use them again in further experiments.

When I was 15 is started to develop my own photos (argentic at that time) in a darkroom. I studied all the classical technics. I started to do photos seriously again with an artistic approach 2 years ago.

I don't use photoshop or any other software to modify the pictures. They are exactly as I see them when I take the photos. Of course I adjust the contrast or the brightness and sometime turn them into negative. But nothing more. My photos could be done with an argentic camera using diapositive projections.
