I prefer to shoot people in natural settings, i.e., no sets, props, etc, and almost always with natural light.  Printing black-and-white photos in my darkroom is still one of my greatest pleasures, but my digital camera also gets a fair amount of use.  I've done CD covers for a few not very famous singers and bands and worked on a movie with a well-known Japanese rock star. Living in Japan for some years definitely helped to form my aesthetic sense. I have a degree in Art History and looking at and thinking about art from all periods has also had a great influence on my work.
