LAZELLE JAMES

was born to be a stylist. As a child, she grew up with a fashion model/makeup artist mother, and knew more about the industry than the average adult; all before entering elementary school.

Always interested in the world of fashion and beauty, it was no surprise that Lazelle began her education in cosmetology. During this time, she honed her skill as an expert retailer, working at a local bridal boutique store (Raleigh, NC) and reaching new sales goal with each client.

After years with the boutique, Lazelle realized she needed to add education to her skill. She moved to Charlotte, NC, and enrolled at the Art Institute of Charlotte. She styled for designers during Charlotte Fashion Week, in addition to landing numerous freelance makeup/hair/styling work including: weddings, events, and news media.

After graduating from the Art Institute in 2008 with a degree in Fashion Marketing, Lazelle began a career with Torrid and Sephora. In 2010, she left Charlotte to take her career to the next level. She is currently a product expert at Sephora Times Square and continues to do freelance work. Her current projects include a website and book dedicated to fashion and beauty, with emphasis on full-figured women.

Lazelle is a triple-threat, fashion force with expertise in hair, styling, and makeup. She is always seeking opportunities to expand her brand as well as her reach to women that need a boost in confidence . Let Lazelle James Makeup your world.
