About Me

Hi! My name is Lindsay Klinger. I am a hair and fashion stylist, and have interests in visual and display work. I am primarily looking to build my portfolio with the help of other talented individuals that I hope to meet in this community. I am thankful for any opportunity to express myself and other's visions with my talents. The most important and exciting part of joining this site is having the opportunity to meet people talented in ways I admire; coming together to make a picture perfect vision for the world to see. Please don't hesitate to contact me to see if we can jive.

Background:
My love for aesthetically pleasing, picture perfect moments came at a young age. Making paper dolls with accessories grew to being part of a teen fashion board for a local mall at the age of 14. All of this blossomed into having an amazing part time job at the age of 16 at The Cedar Chest, resale/consignment/vintage women's clothing store in Media, PA. Helping my mentor hand select fashion for the store, creating visual displays, and styling outfits on manikins that would sell head to toe made me hungry for more knowledge. I took classes at FIT in 2004, when I was a senior in high school then, went to Philadelphia University for Fashion Industry Management after graduation in 2005. After the a year at Philadelphia University and realizing that I was spending 30,000 dollars a year on a field that is not guaranteed in a declining economy, I decided to be a student to every aspect of style. I enrolled in Venus Beauty Academy in 2007 and upon graduation, I got a job as an assistant stylist at Joseph Anthony Spa and Salon in Glenn Mills, PA in 2007. There, they nurtured my need of learning and creating with weekly classes, demonstrations, competitions, and fashion shows. I worked with and learned with many older talented stylists with impressive portfolios. Learning at Joseph Anthony was a pleasure, but my hunger for more overcame me and searching for broader career I'd find more fulfilling for all my talents and interests became me, and eventually moved on in 2009. All in the meantime, I was still helping at The Cedar Chest and moved to store manager. The owner, Shawnee Wright, is starting an amazing new chapter and is building a non profit organization in Liberia. With all of her traveling, she has me run her store on and off for a few months at a time. We have done great events, trunk shows, fashion shows that have brought the community together. We pride ourselves in providing affordable runway fashion and displaying it in a way that makes you feel comfortable to be yourself with friendly advice and tips. When I am not at The Cedar Chest, I am a freelanced hairstylist and work as an assistant to an antique merchant part time. I studied vintage fashion but my knowledge is constantly expanding while working with beautiful craftsmanship from the past. I want to help provide a beautiful vision with my available inventory and talent. I am a forever student; creating, learning, and always enthusiastic to add my part to make our bigger visions possible.
