d Ichsan grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia and developed a passion for photography in his time in college. He is basically a self-learned photographer until he completed his photography course at the Primaimaging Art School. From outdoor to studio photoshoot. It’s an ongoing process that he very much enjoying it.


He took that basic knowledge and develop more further through every assignment and different people. He graduated from Trisakti University with a degree in Product Design, providing him with more conceptual thinking of his works.


His previous works has been appeared in publications such as Millionaire Asia, Cosmetic Surgery and Beauty, Prioritas BCA and Hai Magazine.


His stage photography career started in 2009 when he became Official Photographer for Ecoutez!,one of the best Indonesian Jazz band. And one year later in 2010 he picked up by Pee Wee Gaskins, young and energetic highly acclaimed rock band from Jakarta, as Official Photographer. During that time he manage to work as stage photographer for LYLA, Indonesian pop band.


And in 2011 he was fortunate enough to document the journey of Shivanataraja FIB UI with KunoKini (Indonesiam Ethnic Percussive group) for Cultural Mission to Europe, in Netherlands and Germany.


All of the above made the very basic foundation of his photograph. Ichsan loves to capture images that have strong story and meaning, bold colors or even no color at all, resulting with deep shadow contrasty images, while still maintaining the personality and emotion of the subject.


And even in this digital age, he is still developing his own negative in his small bathroom, commenting on that Ichsan simply says "the smell of the developer is addictive :D "
