Lika Chekalova. Born in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. Started with photography in 2000 as a self-student, since 2005 works both as an artist and commercial photographer. In 2005-2007 studied photojournalism at the Photojournalists’ Department of St-Petersburg Journalists' House, but finally has chosen to be mostly engaged in portrait photography and fashion photography. Took lessons from Alexander Medvedev (portrait photography, St-P), Ilya Lavreshkin (art photography, St-P), Dmitry Rubinstein (art-photography, Moscow), Alexander Kolpakov (fashion photography, Moscow). Took part in 5 group exhibitions (2004 – project “On the edge” with Yuri Belotserkovsky, 2005 – project “Heart colours” with Anna Antipova, 2006 – young photographers group exhibition in art-café Mr. Baker, 2009 – group project FASHION LIVE at Baltiyski fashion gallery, 2010 – group project “Fashion Heat”), and has got 4 personal exhibitions (2006 – project “Her’s” in PHOTOTECHNIKA shop, 2008 – project “Look” in art-café Mr. Baker, 2009 – project “My beauty” in art-café Mr. Baker, 2010 – art-house “Secret Project” made for “Nevsky 106” club and presented there) in Saint-Petersburg. Got publications in Photo Video Magazine, Digital Photo Magazjne, Shopping Magazine, Dress Code Magazine, Holiday Magazine, Business Estate Magazine. Uses Kiev-60 film camera and Canon EOS 5D Mark II digital camera.
