About Me

Greetings from Branson, Missouri USA

I am a commercial real estate appraiser with a background in photography spanning about 40 years. I am most experienced in and best known for Architectural Photography and Aerial Photography, something that grew out of my commercial real estate practice. My best work has been of buildings, landscapes, or static objects which are not shown on this website.

I very rarely shoot people, but that being said, I do sometimes do a shoot where I need a model. When I do, if the customer doesn't already have somebody in mine, I've found my best luck is to just pull somebody off the shop floor or off the street, but that is getting harder to do. I've not used anybody on MM yet, even though I've been posted here for several years, but I might use this site as a resource should the need arise.

Most commercial work I've done involving people has involved cast photos for theater programs, minor promotional materials, musician photos, workplace photos, and photos to go with articles written by people I work with a lot.

I am pretty well equipped for small town. I use a Nikon D-800, two Nikon D-300's, a D-200 and a D-100 and several film SLRs. I have two medium format Hasselblads. And I have and often still use several 4x5 large format film cameras, usually for architectural interiors or for product shots. I have an extensive set of Novatron high power strobes and other lighting equipment (which can light up a mid-rise office building exterior at night for architectural photography) and oddball reflectors, diffusers, stands, etc. Also, I have a 7,500 square foot studio, largest in the market, and an additional 12,000 square foot office and workshop for building sets. However, I have my own airplane and can travel throughout the midwest, depending on the deal, and most of what I shoot is usually on location. I prefer working with static light instead of strobes, but that is mostly because I usually am shooting static objects and not people.

If you want me to keep your info on file, I can be contacted through my appraisal office in the industrial park in Hollister at 417-334-3530 or by email at [email protected] (please put something about photos wanted in the subject line--I get A LOT of junk email). My website is www.marritza.com. A photography page will be up someday, but so far I haven't needed it yet.
