About Me

My name is Rebecca Hall I hold a BA Honours Degree in Costume ,Technical Effects and Make Up For The Performing Arts [Make Up pathway] from The London College Of Fashion [Year of completion 2005.]
Whilst studying this course I acquired a wide range of skills including Prosthetic Design, Sculpture, Colouring and Application, Wig Making and Dressing, Postiche ,Hair Dressing/Styling and as well as Studio ,Theatre, Period and Casualty Make up.
I am always looking at ways to further my skill repertoire whilst undertaking new challenges in order to push myself to the next level creatively.

Madame Tussauds Studios work experience and Freelance 2008 - present. - Whilst working at Madame Tussauds I have had the opportunity to undertake various roles related to my degree. One of which is to have a close working relationship with the studio team who perform daily maintenance on the wax figures. What stared off as work experience has lead on to freelance work on a regular basis. I have acquired lots of skills whilst working with the department including colouring using oil paints to recreate a realistic flesh effects and Make Up, sculpting, Hair Punching and Dressing. I have also had the opportunity of working on the breakdown of the main ride of the attraction for the past 2 years where I undertook various technical effects jobs including painting sets and props.


48HR SCI Fi film challenge with 1947 films 14th April 2012
The River- short Producer Simona Williams for UCA Farnham - 2nd -8th April 2012 - This was a short about a man who kills his friend in a fit of rage and disposes of the body into a river.
Music Video Phillippos N feat Liz Bumgarner-Lizacid-Freshit productions 1st of April 2012 - This was a fun shoot which consisted of Zombie Make Up effects using silicone prosthetics made by Mike Peel for the hero zombies. The dancers had more basic zombie make up consisting of casualty effects and finally I created two high fashion looks for the lead actress .
Music Video for rock band Words of Purvis single fight song -31st March - This was a cool little shoot which required a Straight Make Up for celebrity hairdresser Nicky Clarke and cuts and bruises for the band .
The person behind the door - Short DIR Nauan Barros 27th -30th March 2012 - This film is a satire about a man who has a breakdown when a new tenant moves into his house. The make up consisted of straight make up with some SFX elements
Ongoing project The Hobbit-Tower House School-Dir Paul Greary. February-on going - This is an exciting and ambitious project seeing THS prep school tackle The Hobbit .This project has various make Up effects including Ageing, Laying on Hair , Bald caps, wigs ,Casualty and Prosthetics. I am the lead Make Up artist on this project and have sculpted and made all of the prosthetics using gelatine has the medium. This is first time the school has tackled a full length feature film and we are filming on location around Norfolk, The Peak District and Lincolnshire. Past alumni include Robert Patterson and Tom Hardy.
Oliver The musical at The Townsgate Theatre Basildon- Charity performance in aid of Basildon Women’s Aid and La Dance Fantastique presented by Actz Entertainment -6th and & 7th of March 2012. - This was a really fun project where I got to design and Make Up actor John Harland as Fagin. To create this character I used various techniques to apply aging ,laying on a beard ,Teeth Colouring and a prosthetic nose sourced from another project.
Short Film - Mother Died -Writer and Dir Neill Gorton working with Millennium Fx in association with Bloody Cuts 19th February -This was an exciting project where I got to spend the day working with Millennium FX applying Zombie effects using silicone prosthetics. It was amazing to work with some of the best in the industry this was an invaluable day with my work also being featured in the local paper.
Make Up and Hair-The London Film School -Out Of Doors -Dir Jonathan S.Brostoff February 2012 - This was a short film about a father and son who come together when the father becomes ill. The make Up consisted of aging/sickness and rock make up similar to the style of Good Charlotte.
Make Up and Hair - The London Film School -It happens so fast - Producer Dave French January 2012 -This was a short film based around two central characters whom fall in love whilst one of them are in a rock band. I had to do Hair and Make Up for four characters two women and two men .The women had evening Make Up and Hair.
Make up and Hair Design [Dir Mark Triller Goldsmiths University MA Film Production] September 2011 -3rd December. - I was asked to be involved in a series of short films based on the seven deadly sins for an up and coming film crew who are completing their MA in film making . The first shoot that we did was entitled LUST. This was a photo shoot where I was required to come up with a sexy Make Up look with Hair to match for a lone actress. The second film was entitled WRATH this was about a young woman who takes her revenge on her boyfriend who has been abusing her. I was given free range to come up with an especially gory make up effect which included bruising, cuts and free flowing blood. Finally The last project that I was involved in was entitled Greed which we shot on the 3RD of December .This required an interesting make Up effect where I had to make the protagonist appear to cut diamonds from under his flesh . This was a day shoot where I applied various casualty and prosthetic wounds.
Make Up and Hair design on -Prototype film Co project TRUE LOVE 21st -27th October 2011 - This an interesting horror film where I am required to do a mixture of contemporary and Period[1960s] make up and hair.
Merlin’s magic wand face painting July 2011 - I was asked to organise and run a face painting day at Madame Tussauds for their children’s charity Merlin’s Magic Wand. This was a really fun day where I got to come up with lots of different face painting ideas including lots of tigers and butterflies. We made lots of money for a really good cause.
A Thousand words music video shoot February 2011 -Make Up and Hair - This was a 2 day shoot for an up and coming soul singer Chris G. This project required Straight Make Up for Chris and various different Hair and Make Up looks for the actress in the video.
6+6=13 Resident Make Up Artist - In February 2010 I was invited to become part of an exciting new theatre company called 6+6=13 so far we have put on 2 productions Repressed at the etcetera theatre Camden and Séance at The courtyard Theatre Old street with upcoming productions planned for early next year.
Repressed March 2011 - This was a small production with two actors who uncover a hidden secret form their past. This required basic theatre make up and self harm scars on the female character.
Séance - The Court Yard Theatre March and October 2010 Make Up design, Prosthetics and Hair - This was a much bigger production which required lots of different make up for 8 characters which included a broken neck prosthetic piece which I designed ,sculpted ,cast and applied. Aging make up, bruising, burns and cuts .This was a really great production which gave me the opportunity to use lots of different make up techniques.
Marvel launch party May 2010 - I was asked to do some make up for the official press launch after party for a brand new 4d film at Madame Tussauds .This was a fun little job where I designed and applied superhero masks on the team running the after show party.
Hard Shoulder -Feature Film [DIR Nicholas David Lean] October 2009 - I spent a day assisting Make Up artist Samantha Maxwell and Special Effects Artist Mike Peel with Hair, Make Up, Tattooing and general on set duties.
Kudos community projects Hair and Make Up on a Chelmsford based youth project which recreated Michael Jackson’s thriller August 2009 - This was a fun project where along with two other Make Up artists we spent the day turning young adult dancers in to Zombies.
Bakerloo line centenary photo shoot Monday 27th February 2006 - I spent the day working with the students from the BA photography course at the London College of Fashion, working on a project commissioned by the Bakerloo line as a part of their centenary celebrations. The theme of the photo shoot was based loosely around the Victorian circus.
Web cast 31st January 2006 Spectrecom studios - I spent the day at Spectrecom studios in Greenwich working on the filming of a corporate interview, which will go out on monster.com for Peter Croasdale. My brief was to do three straight make ups on two gentleman and one lady. This gave me a good opportunity to put my studio make up skills to use.
Beauty Consultant TK max Promo tour Cambridge store 15/10/05 - I spent the day on the TK max promotional bus applying ten minute makeovers on members of the public also giving them make up advice.
Where Love Reigns Make Up Assistant Promo shoot -dir David Ness Executive Producer Martin Scorsese September 05 - After spending two days working in the costume department I was invited back to work as Make Up Assistant on the week long shoot. I was working with Make Up artist Cate Hall and Hair Stylist Dominic Robertini. During my time on the shoot I was responsible for actor Douglas Henshall’s Make Up which consisted of a straight Make Up with a moustache. I also got the chance to do some casualty make up for a scene involving a sword fight. I also spent two days working in the Costume Department working with costume designer Hayley Nebauer breaking down the costumes.
Student film Mirror April 2005 - I worked as a daily on a short Horror film entitled Mirror. I had two characters to Make Up this included the lead character portrayed by Guy Newman. His make up consisted of applied cuts and bruising. The second characters make up was very simple I had to apply some liver spots and put her hair in a bun. This film was shot on location on a house on the Middlesex campus. It was a final filming project for the television production BA (hons) course at Middlesex University. Although my time on it was short it gave me good experience shooting on location in cramped conditions without a proper make up space.
Film Stock Taker Third year show- Gurner / fight / bathing beauty, shoot 13th-19th February 2005 / Theatre show ‘Our True Intent Is All For Your Delight ‘ March 2005 Cochrane theatre - Every year the third year students on my Degree realize the Make Up, Costume and Technical Effects for an industry linked theatre show. The director Niche Jones came up with the idea of doing a Midsummer’s night dream relocated to a 1950’s Bullins holiday camp it was a tongue in cheek production that involved a variety of make ups including fantasy and period.
