I'm Rachel Ashcroft, an Aberdeen based make-up artist. I will be finishing my qualifications as of June 2012 and joined this site after a friends recommendation to try and get some more experience.
Fashion make up is a passion of mine and I hugely enjoy what I do. While it is exceedingly stressful at times making it all come together, the finished article is always worth the hassle. My end goal for my career is to be working for fashion publications such as Vouge or Harpers Bazaar or working on catwalk shows for designers. I'm a long way off that just now but you've got to have ambitions and targets to help you get anywhere.
I'm inspired greatly by Vivienne Westwood, having chosen to study her work on my course. I enjoy doing make up that is a bit more dramatic and creative and whilst bridal make up is a good way to begin a career in make-up artistry (and is a passion for many people) it is not something i am hugely interested in. I like to create looks that you wouldnt wear on the street everyday, but look amazing photographed on the right model.
