About Me

JP Jacobsen is from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The YouTube revolution deeply affected his early 20’s. The possibility of freely communicating with people around the world trough audio visual inspired him into creating several skate and comedy short-films that were watched by more than 500.000 viewers. One of these small projects, “Convite Para Festa Hippie”, won the 2008 Festival do Minuto Audience Award. The public recognition gave him the confidence to move on into more ambitious projects.

He directed and edited “Ré Bemol”, the artistic dark story about the death of love won multiple student awards in Brazil. Later he directed and edited “16:00 Horas”, a short documentary about social gaps which was a finalist in 2008 Rio Criativo. Now in Los Angeles, he will be attending the prestigious USC Film Production Graduate program until 2013. His speciality is Directing and Producing comedy. His plan, to break in the entertainment industry by mixing comedy and commercials to tell funny stories that engage audiences, build brands and sell products.
