About Me

I've been a professional photographer since 1981, although I am now mostly retired.  Over the years my work has been published in virtually every motorcycle related publication there is.  I started out shooting on film, painstakingly using different types of film and techniques to produce various results followed by spending hours in the darkroom to get the effect I was looking for.  These days I have converted 100% to Digital, but I try to use the native images straight from the camera, with very little to no Photoshop manipulation ..... it just seems to me that there is a difference between being a photographer versus a "Digital Artist".... I think you lose the "photography" the more you manipulate the image.  I try to keep my shoots more traditional, yet current and relevant.  I keep my client base very small now and I have other business interests that allow me to be very selective about what and when I shoot.

What I like about Model Mayhem, is that not only does it provide a forum for people who are very serious about modeling to connect with Photographers and learn about opportunities, but it also provides an opportunity for people who may not be so serious about modeling as a career, but who might like to explore a side of themselves that they otherwise might not.  Those are the people who I would really like to connect with and explore a fantasy or idea that they have, even if the work is ultimately only seen by a few people.... or just one person.
