Malik McCrea was born Jamar Malik Brooks of Baltimore Maryland, in July of 1989. His life however didn’t begin until his first trip to a new country at the age of 8. Experiencing a different culture, and being the only representative of his own culture lead him to become the perpetual thinker he is today, and along the way he developed a love for the arts and a particular knack for the art of visual story telling. Appreciative of great people, Malik would often read about individuals who went on the do things far beyond what was presumed to be the extent of their capabilities. Unsure on exactly how to exceed those limiting expectations exactly, he devoted his life to the pursuit of that answer and found that truest answer is found in the action. At 23 years of he stands at a modest 5’11 (although if you ask him he’ll tell you 6ft) and has produced over 10 music videos in the spirit of that pursuit. His goal is to become a renowned filmmaker, one whose mind paints picture for the world to see. Though his cause is just he is selfish in his pursuit, he is selfish in his mission. Through the medium of film his wishes are to explore the depths of his own psyche that to this very day render him in existential disarray.
