I am a university student studying in Nottingham in the UK. I first recognised myself as a photographer when I was handed a friend's DSLR to photograph a race they were participating in 2 years ago.
However, I was quickly encapsulated by the clarity and depth of the images produced that I became more focused on the camera than the race itself.
From that day on, I saved my cash until I could afford my first camera, and from there I explored the huge opportunities and possibilities that photography provided in capturing everyday life.
As a creatively-inclined individual, I particularly enjoy photographing people, as it allowed me to channel and emphasise particular parts of their character. I have gained considerable experience in band photography, becoming the main photographer for an up-and-coming UK band known as 'Near Moments'. I also have a reasonable background in portrait photography; an area that I focus a large amount of my time on perfecting.
I am now constantly researching different styles and themes in photography, and I am most intrigued by Fashion photography, with early portrits from Man Ray to the modern eccentric stylings of Nick Knight; I feel I have finally discovered my major aspiration to become a Fashion Photographer. I know that the road is a long and very selective path, but I hope that by joining this site I can enrich and optimise my photographic potential in pursuit of my dream.
