My models and I have fun during a shoot. It just doesn't flow if you get uptight about the details. We find a groove and make some art. Maybe you’re a firecracker who just can’t hold still, or maybe you’re so warm and cozy you’ll melt into the set, whatever you’re about I do whatever I can to help you let that out. It’s a collaboration, so let me know what you want from a shoot. We'll make it happen together.

I’ve shot in the desert and in the closet, in Japan, Laos, the Philippines, Belize, Utah, location isn't the most important thing. Equipment can get in the way of the art, so I use natural lighting and shoot on location, with some fill-in lighting where necessary. We might set up a scene, but we’ll probably go for an un-posed and un-forced look. I like working with models who bring all levels of experience to the shoot, beginner to pro.

Art, more than glamor is what I’m after. Some of my favorite photographers are Ellen von Unwerth, Garry Winogrand, Lee Friedlander and Nobuyoshi Araki.
