About Me

I studied photojournalism at the University of Montana School of Journalism and spent 8 years working as a news photographer before leaping into the world of studio and portrait photography. In addition to lighting and technical mastery, these years as a photojournalist gave me experience scouting locations, shooting on-site and combining flash photography with natural lighting. I currently run two photography studios in Portland, Oregon — Satin Studios, a body-positive boudoir studio and PDX Portraits, a lifestyle and family portraits business. I also shoot senior class portraits and commercial photography on-location in the Seattle-Tacoma area. When I'm not shooting, I also work as a writer, reporter and digital producer.
