Introduction
I have been taking photographs for many years, predominantly in architecture and action sports which I do on a semi-professional basis. Looking for something to do in the winter I became a recent convert to studio/model photography but am loving it. I do this for fun and publish images only on sites like this or my own website/Facebook page to showcase my work. Occasionally I may enter images into club competitions.


Consideration
Delighted for models to contact me for TF opportunities but generally I expect to pay, or part pay, you to shoot with me and to pay reasonable expenses. I will pay studio costs and generally provide most of the wardrobe items. I prefer to work on the basis of a reasonable rate and to provide you with a couple of edited digital images from each look captured at the shoot but if you work TF you will have access to all edited images. If your portfolio is full and you simply want to maximise the rate that is, of course, fine too. I am always happy to discuss the value of anything useful or beneficial you may bring to the shoot, perhaps unusual wardrobe items or a particular ability/skill.

Where
I love outdoor and location shoot and have scouted some very interesting locations. I alsohave access to a great studio in Helensburgh which is about 40mins from Glasgow by road or rail. Getting here is easy! There are some interesting outside locations nearby but I am happy to drive a reasonable distance to shoot on location if you have some good ideas. I do not work from my home, your home or hotel rooms.

Style
I love expressive and dynamic images. As part of my learning curve I have to accept that I have indulged in a few clichéd poses but I hope that is in the past and I am more imaginative now. I love working with models that come brimming with enthusiasm and are comfortable jumping around, contorting their bodies and pulling faces. I guess my goal would be a quirky image but executed with a bit of polish.

Hair and Make-up.
Our combined goal is to produce images of the best quality that we can and I love it when models can complete the required look for a shoot without involving anyone else. If, however, this is outwith your comfort zone or you think what I am asking for requires specialist skills then please let us discuss it. If you have a good relationship with a stylist or m.u.a. that you’d like to propose I will be happy to consider that or to bring someone in. I regularly use the services of a great local girl but she has limited availability and that could influence shooting times/dates.

Chaperons
I find that additional bodies at the shoot generally spoil the dynamics of it so I much prefer you come alone. If, however, I have approached you that means I want to work with you and will generally try to negotiate a scenario that suits us both. If this is an issue, please get it out in the open from the get go. If you turn up for a shoot, accompanied, without prior agreement I will reserve the right to cancel. If we do agree that you can bring someone along this will not be a partner of any sort.

Me
If all this sounds a bit dry and humourless, let me assure you that the prime object is to have fun. I like to keep things relaxed and have a blether along the way and will make sure you are watered and fed with whatever your guilty pleasure happens to be.
