I am an aspiring actress/model. I have wanted to be an actor since I was a little girl. I also have a huge interest in psychology and would love to go to school and study the subject. My secondary dream is to become a therapist, preferably a family therapist.
It wasn't until actually got in front of a camera when I realized how true my chemistry with the camera is. I had never been professionally photographed and the photographer was blown away by my talent. Sure I thought of modeling, but when I just "thought" of modeling I had the thoughts "well I'm not so special, I'm not so pretty, they would never look at me, I'm too short, I'm too fat." Those thoughts are so wrong. When I thought of modeling I automatically thought of runway. Tall, slim beauties that live in high heels.
Then someone told me about commercial print modeling or “everyday people modeling.” With all these social networks being so popular in my generation, sure I have hundreds of pictures of myself and with friends. I have always been told I was very photogenic and I take amazing pictures but I never thought or even knew about commercial print modeling. The day of my head shot photo shoot I was a little nervous but five minutes of being in front of the camera, working with this photographer, I did not want it to end. I felt amazing. I felt beautiful and confident and adored. That fulfilling and rewarding feeling that comes from doing things you truly love.
Sure I would love to go to college, get an education and a degree but I honestly feel like I have my entire life to study and go to school. My youth and my beauty is my currency right now. And right now I am choosing to follow my dreams before I can ever have the chance to wake up one day and feel like it is too late and be filled with regrets. I would like to get paid work as a result of having a MM account but I am also up for Time for Print work as well. I need to build a portfolio so that would work perfectly.
I believe in myself and I hope that is enough to encourage other people to believe in and support me. And even without support I will still chase this dream of mine because I know exactly what I am capable of and I want it to happen. Thank you for reading, all the blessings, -Amanda.
