Hello, my name is Laura-Jane. I'm 20 years old and live in greater Manchester. I have always been into hair, makeup and fashion, and have always wanted a career around those three main factors. I am currently a hairstylist who has been working in a salon in the Stockport area, for over 3 years including training. Completing level 2 Nvq, I am now ongoing my level 3. I thrive to learn and expand my skills and conquer my dreams and ambitions. Whilst doing my level 2 hairdressing, I went on to several courses at wella studios Manchester, completing with diplomas of foundation colour award, essential foil award and creative colour award. I also, took on fashion and photography makeup level 3 on my day off to push me towards my goal. This included basic makeup, day makeup, evening makeup, bridal, high fashion, catwalk, period and fantasy. Within my salon that I'm based at, I have helped on several photo shoots which were used in a local magazine, as well as for the salons website. I also for the first time, did my own photo shoot to put in the local magazine to advertise the salon and use in my portfolio, for which I did both hair and makeup. In a few weekends time I will be ongoing my 2nd successful photoshop for the salon, getting prepared for prom season! I am also a member of the fellowship team, which has plenty of courses and shows to go on! I helped out in 2013 on the fellowship stage and pro hair live Manchester, working backstage with the models, getting them prepped, helping the story list with the models hair and outfit, sending the models on stage in the correct order and setting the stage ready for the next show.
Having had a slight taste for the hectic buzz of working in a tight time scale in the salon, backstage of a show and helping on someone's or doing my own shoot, has made me more determined to progress my career path and I feel with mm this can open, opportunities and windows to meeting and getting contacts for many projects, to not only help build up my portfolio, but help me succeed in my creative and exciting future!
Currently learning to drive, but regardless am willing to travel anywhere around the Manchester area, and once complete my driving; anywhere in the uk!

JUST FOR MORE INFO: I do work full time Tuesday - Saturdays in the salon, therefore my free days are mainly Sundays and Mondays, or after work on Tuesdays, Thursday and Saturdays. Please get I touch with me a few weeks in advance as I do freelance work and have people booking in.
