My name is Kayleigh Evans. I'm a 23 year old, free spirit, hard-working, life-loving girl.

I grew up in rural Pennsylvania, working on a farm. Currently, I live in a small suburban town outside Philadelphia. I work at a restaurant, do film photography in my spare time, love to read. I am the lead singer in a blues/rock n' roll band. Music is my life.

I have been approached by many people in the modeling industry over the last few years, and told that I would definitely make it in modeling. I have reservations about the conventional modeling approach, because I am hyper-aware of how young girls view themselves. I am a size four, not a size zero, and happy to be so. I'm proud to say that I grew up in a community where hard work, character, and self-respect come first, and external beauty and self-image come last. That, to my mind, is real beauty.

This is why I'm here: I would love the opportunity to represent beauty in a new way. The same way Aerie is breaking the industry norm with their un-retouched photos campaign, the same way the gorgeous Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence has re-defined beauty for young girls with her bold statements like, "We have the ability to control this image that young girls are going to be seeing.... Girls see enough of this body that we can't imitate, that we'll never be able to obtain, these unrealistic expectations, and [Katniss Everdeen] is gonna be their hero, and we have control over that."

So that's me, and what I'm all about. I love a challenge, and I am open book. Questions? Fire away.
