I usually just tell the models to go through their closets and pull out the fun stuff: the dresses that you love but but never get to wear, the odd costume pieces, the lingerie, the crazy hats & jewelry & sunglasses & swimsuits, makeup that you think is cool. Your high school band uniform or mascot outfit. Whatever. And then we play with outfits, mix & match, pick a look and shoot! I like to shoot outdoors if possible (for the natural lighting). My general aesthetic is: either lots of skin showing or very little skin showing; I like to really use the natural human contours or to really obscure and rewrite those human contours in a statuesque way.
