About Me

I am passionate about people. People feel better about themselves and others when they see themselves in a positive and flattering way. Importantly, others perceive a person or group more favorably when that individual or group is presented well. My goal is to work hard with clients to help them present themselves and their products in a manner that clearly conveys what they want to communicate, as long as the visual message is positive and not disturbing.

A bit "seasoned" in my experience, I have been shooting for over 35 years as a non-professional photographer. Over the years, I have done weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, head shots, a leading fashion show, group portraits, concerts, and kids' sports. I have even been brought in to Boston and Washington, DC to photograph events honoring top national officials. Recently, I was hired to shoot a wonderful destination wedding in Rincon, Puerto Rico.

This site will provide me with opportunities to work with models to build their portfolios as well as assist me in both practicing my craft and building my own body of work.

Easy going, intellectual, competent, humorous, discerning, encouraging, and engaging, I am a photographer almost all models will enjoy working with regardless of their background and current stage in their journey in modeling.

Some things models working with me should expect and count on are my full concentration on our project, attention to their comfort, professionalism, discretion, a collaborative attitude (shoots are OUR work and not MY work), and an emphasis on our personal interaction with as little distraction as possible from others who may be in on the project.

This is huge for me: your personal integrity is paramount! If you don't feel good about yourself or the images when we're done, then I haven't done my job. The model should ALWAYS feel proud and pleased, not denigrated, ashamed, or compromised.

During sessions, I won't allow myself to be overwhelmed with equipment/technology concerns. Unless the purpose of the shoot is expressly for me to learn a new piece of equipment, then I will not employ photographic equipment with which I am not fully familiar with. In short, our time together is not the time for me to fiddle with the tools of the trade. The right equipment is necessary, of course, but it should NOT get in the way of what we are trying to do.

Alcohol use during a shoot? Tell me ahead of time what your expectation is. I won't imbibe but will consider allowing moderate consumption in some circumstances. I highly discourage it, but I understand that some people use it in moderation "to take the edge off". Drugs? Absolutely not. Never. Not even marijuana. Need that kind of stuff, then I'm not your guy.

Music is a good thing! When possible and appropriate, music may be used to set the tone, create the mood, and elevate the comfort level. (Note: I detest earbuds and headphones! If we bring music to the shoot, then let's share in it together. Of course, there are exceptions, but that is my general preference.)

Contact is always best by email, at least initially. Though voice messages will always be listened to, I do not immediately pick up calls or respond to text messages from numbers I don't recognize.

Life is precious but the moments are fleeting. Let's make the most of it! Let's have some fun!
