About Me

My name is Danijel and I've only recently returned to photography after many years away from it. After a recent separation I needed to find something that was close to my heart and with so much time on my hands I picked up my camera and started to explore.

Currently I am learning techniques and styles to capture people in a way that allows me to enhance their characteristics in respectful, classy and interesting ways.

I am not a great photographer, but I do hope to be able to use my skills in natural photography to start to bring together 2 projects that I want to exhibition next year.

My first project is titled "A Day With" where I want to learn about the subject and find what they are their core. Too often it is a result of the query "What do you like do do" that I'll be in receipt of subjects like: stuff, movies, dinner, TV, usual. I want to break this barrier. If everyone was doing "stuff, movies, dinner, TV or usual" then I'm pretty sure we'd have no problems finding a partner and everyone would be married by 23. We don't do this. This is not who we are. I want do capture the essence of what people like to do, what their core passion and love is and bring it together in a collection that can transcend the commonality that binds us as a general whole.

My second project is a little more different. Currently without title, it's goal is to capture the non-observable expressions that male models can portray - using their genitals and hands alone. Using the Plutchik chart of 8 emotional pillars, the subjects are given a series of 8 different emotive states and asked they express these how they see fit using their genitals by manipulation. These are then to be compiled into the emotional pillars and sub-categorisied and presented hopefully next year in April or May as a collection.

I am hoping to connect with people who are willing to explore boundaries that might exist with the common society and put themselves not in front of my camera for sake of modelling, but for sake of art. I don't want to produce photos that are artistic with a lot of Photoshop editing - I want to produce art that embodies people and allow us a new view into their core.
