My name is Matthew Gianoulis and I was born and bred in Townsville, Queensland, Australia. Since I can remember, I have always had a passion for the arts. This has stuck with me throughout my schooling years. When it was time to leave High School however, I wasn’t sure what I really wanted to do, I did however know I wanted to do something in the creative industries. It was with this in mind, I decided to enroll in the New Media Arts course at James Cook University. I graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of New Media Arts, Majoring in Graphic Design and Minoring in Photography and Visual Arts.

After graduating, I held various fulltime jobs in the Graphic Design industry while doing small photography jobs on the side. It wasn’t until I was asked to volunteer my skills for the Mercedes-Benz Townsville Fashion Festival in 2012 that I became more interested in photography. Since then, I have undertaken a myriad of photography projects ranging from voluntary to paid.

In 2014 I made the big decision to become self-employed as a graphic designer and photographer, which has allowed me to undertake jobs from both industries at a more balanced level.

I am for the most part, a self-taught photographer specialising in fashion and beauty portraiture. With my work I hope to inspire others and leave a lasting impression. I love to create beautiful work and always aspire to perfection in all aspects of my photography. My inspiration comes from everything around me and in particular other creatives with a passion for what they do.

In the future I hope that I can not only become an established photography, but also continually challenge and grow my skills to keep up with an ever changing industry.
