I am Fashion student at Kingston University and I am currently working on my final collection. With a keen eye for rich colours and luxurious fabrics, as a womenswear designer I focus on modern tailoring with a mature and glamorous aesthetic. My inspiration derives from an interest in historic eras such as the 1920’s as I am fascinated by the secret stories that may lie behind images and objects.

My graduate collection ‘The Hidden Revolution’ was inspired by the prohibition, where women experienced an interesting gender shift. At that time women were seen to be at home and primarily housewives. During the prohibition many women began to break the rules, becoming part of the underground lifestyle seen in illegal speakeasies, and even became bootleggers. I took this as a narrative for my collection focusing on the idea of secrecy and hidden glamour.
