About Me

Chris Buck likes taking pictures, he has been doing so professionally for 25 years. He hails from Toronto, Canada and is now based in New York and Los Angeles.

His clients include Diesel, Xerox, GQ, ESPN and The Guardian Weekend Magazine. In 2007 he was the first recipient of the Arnold Newman Portrait Prize, and he was recently included in the Lürzer’s Archive 200 Best Ad Photographers book (2014/2015). Over the past eighteen years his work has appeared in North America’s most prestigious photo annuals: American Photography 37 times, Photo District News Photo Annual 22 times, and the Communication Arts Photography Annual 11 times.

His first monograph, PRESENCE: The Invisible Portrait was published by Kehrer Verlag in the fall of 2012. The book feature 50 photographs of celebrities in which they are present, but not visible.

His other series work includes Chris Buck's Chris Buck (portraits of other people sharing his full name), Gentlemen's Club (portraits of exotic dancer's boyfriends) and Likeness (pictures of a 10 inch 3D photograph of himself).

Chris has always heard good things about the model mayhem community and hopes to expand his horizons with them, and perhaps theirs too.
