About Me

Being behind the lens on an amateur as well as professional level since I was about 8, I have developed an extreme passion for photography.
Over the past decade I've moved my focus to B&W and am trying to return to the basics employed by Ansell Adams and Edward Weston - light. After all, photography is the essence of capturing light. For me it is capturing light with images that are as much in the natural state as possible and learning to deal with changes in light, lighting direction and working with the many different shades of gray that comprise B&W photography. Yes, I also work with color as some shots just do not deliver the proper impact unless the color has been captured correctly. Again, I am diligently working with as much natural light as possible.
Photography has been a life-long muse and in the past 5 - 7 years I have turned to the female figure as my primary subject because of all the many different curves, textures, shapes and potential the female figure allows for working with natural light. I do shoot indoors but also try to do that using as much natural light that enters through the windows as possible. It is more difficult, but the challenge delivers great satisfaction when it comes out right.
