Spending 3 years studying at Ann Arbor’s Washtenaw Community College, breathing in photo developer fumes, printing big prints, hours of lasso-ing stuff onto things, and letting amazing work like that of Richard Avedon, Cindy Sherman, Nick Knight and Diane Arbus help develop my strong sense of style and familiarity with tools modern and past to create art. I am currently engaged in a project to shoot portraits with the intention of creating large 6′ x 6′ silver-halide prints. Revisiting a style and format I have worked in the past, my goal is to refine the past process and experiment with new moods, themes and a more mature vision of my final outcome for each piece.
