What I Do: I am currently a part time make-up artist at Mac Cosmetics here in North Texas. I specialize in wedding, special occasion, natural/dramatic makeup, professional photoshoot, and fashion show/stage makeup.
Company Name: I have yet to come up with a name that I will stick to, but for now I brand my work as #MakeupByJAamir.
Why and How I Got Started: Well, originally I had planned on going to Texas State and majoring in Fashion Merchandizing because I thought that was what I really wanted to do. After some months I realized that that wasn't the path I wanted to follow just because I spent most of my time watching YouTube tutorials, and spending hours on makeup pages via social media. I had always done all my friend's makeup before we went out to parties and things like that but it took mw some time to realize that this is what I really wanted to do.
When I Started: I started doing makeup on other people besides my self around the Summer time in 2012, but I started working for Mac in May of 2014.
Where I Am Based: I am based in North Dallas, but I go all over Dallas when needed and I plan to start traveling within the few months.
What Inspires Me: I get inspired by watching videos and looking at makeup images as any other makeup artist would but mostly I get inspired by whatever canvas (face) I am working on at that moment because no one looks exactly the same there is always something special about that person's face that should inspire you. Rather it be skin color, eye color, the size of their eyes, lips, cheek bones, etc. That's what inspires me the most... building on what is already in front of me.
