I am so lucky to have a found something in life that makes me so happy and to be able turn it into my career, well, again very fortunate!

So, a little about me….

I first found my love for photography when I was part of a car club back in 2003, photographing cars at events for fun and posting on forums and loving the feedback I used to get! It then started to get frustrating when I wanted to capture cars moving and my little compact at the time just couldn't quite cut it! So I invested in my first SLR Nikon D50 and i was away!….

My love then moved to portraits after stumbling across model/photographer forums and I was completely inspired with lighting, colours, and the such diverse creations out there.

I then joined the Rushden & District Photography Club which has helped mould me technically into the photographer I am today, I owe almost all of my knowledge to my very good friend John Tisbury, who without him, and his constant support I may not be where I am today.

I was hooked. So I made an investment into a mobile studio lighting setup and started working as Claire Hirst photography in 2008, travelling to homes across Northamptonshire providing a service of home photography. It wasn't enough.

So in 2009 I joined Disney Cruise Lines as a photographer travelling the world, shooting families in a studio environment, weddings and it was the best career choice I ever made. The knowledge i gained was priceless. Meeting the most amazing people with different cultures and traditions. I also learnt how to win with children!

After 2 years, I was lucky enough to be taken on at the UK's leading portrait company 'Venture Photography' what I have enhanced all skills I have learnt to date. A more relaxed and natural style has taught me how to get really the most genuine and unposed shots, and of course more winning with children!

And now I have found my real passion, weddings. I don't even know where to start, the nerves, the excitement, the build up right from meeting the bride and groom for the first time and knowing how great it is going to be. The real kick for me is seeing them smile and reliving the day when they see the final shots. I always come away from a wedding smiling and often can't wait to start edits they normally start that night!

My style has developed from all my past experience, how to put people at ease, keeping it informal, contemporary and overall an enjoyable experience. I can sympathise having your photo taken is not my favourite things to do! But together with the right guidance and fun I will capture your day in the most memorable way!
