I always thought of photography as a naughty thing to do, that was one of my favorite things about it, and when I first did it, I felt very perverse, but as I evolved I understood the true meaning of it. Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving… What you have caught on film is captured forever... I mean it is amazing how the photograph itself will remember little things, long after you have forgotten everything, they symbolize the alternatives of hope and despair to which mankind is forever subjected.

What surprised the most through the years and the pictures taken was finding out that the art of photography itself has little to do with the things you see and has everything to do with the way you want to see them. It is an art of observation; it's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place lying in front of everybody else without their noticing.

What baffled me the most is that the word Photography itself, to many, tends to lend itself so well towards fashion, a common mistake, but fact is that it's all about capturing that moment and that inspiration, and as a photographer you are constantly walking through the world assimilating those visual references you have seen and being able to solidify that into a photograph, ….to me that is essential to creating your best collection ever.

I wish more people felt this way, like we do, that photography is an adventure just like life itself, and that they could understand and realize, that their individual feelings are worth expressing, and if they can manage that, that would make the world of photography all the more exciting.

As I close, allow me this one last piece of mind, we never tried and we never will try to revolutionize photography. To us it's been a source of happiness, a source of the most intense feelings of joy and satisfaction, one that no one can even imagine. It has provided us with a platform to share our passion in a way we neither expected nor could have imagined and we truly hope that it gives the people that we touch through our photographs, the optimism, that needed push on their back and the desire to achieve their goals.

So with that all being said, welcome to our world, welcome to Nathan Voogt photography, where we just do what we do, what we love and hope that people will get the message behind each picture and that they will learn to appreciate and like it because in this bright new rising world, this is what we kind of have to do, think outside of the box …..because to us the message was loud and clear, crystal clear …at the end of the day, limits and fears, are often just an illusion
