My passion and inspiration for photography started in childhood. Growing up, surrounded by the natural beauty of Yorkshire, with many days out to places like the North Yorkshire moors, Robin Hoods Bay and the medieval City of York instilled a passion in me to create memories I could return to again and again, through images that captured the warmth and happy feelings I felt in the places I visited. Whilst I take many pictures using natural light, I have also developed and honed various techniques of my own using artificial light alongside natural light to create some truly stunning pictures effects. This is also something I teach on my photography courses.

I have always liked taking pictures of people and as the father of triplets, my camera is never far from my side as I capture the defining moments in my children's lives. This has naturally led me into wedding photography. There is a magical feeling about weddings, a serene sense of love, happiness and contentment all around. Capturing the story and emotions of the day in pictures is something I really enjoy doing.

When I'm not spending time with my wife Claire and making lego worlds with our three children, I love to spend time outdoors keeping fit through running and mountain biking. This gives me an excuse to visit and explore new places as well as an opportunity to sample the coffee from the various cafes I pass.
