My name is Cody Deegan. I am an artist specializing in oil paintings and pencil drawings. I routinely hire models to help me create the realistic style depicted in my artwork. I create my concept art first and use that as a blueprint to develop and create the final paintings. So normally I have specific poses in mind that the models emulate in the photo shoots that I do with the assistance of my wife, Joan. I then use the photos as reference for my paintings. It is a fun and creative process. I post a project's progress from start to finish in a blog on my website.

Models be aware that you should not wear any makeup for the photo shoots so as not to obscure the color and light interactions of your skin. Your likeness will be naturally beautiful in the final painting. Depending on the project, I will sometimes hire a wardrobe person to create costuming.

Visible tattoos can be troublesome when I am painting. I will always try to find models without tattoos first simply because it is much more work for me to paint believable form well when it is obscured. Tattoos are not a deal-breaker, just know that they create problems for my work (unless of course the painting requires tattoos).

Since I am located in a smaller town, models would need a mode of transportation to get here for the photo shoots. Elysian Realm compensates for travel costs and modeling time.

Models can use all photos taken during the reference photo shoots and also the final artwork for their portfolios.

I am working to secure use of our local art center as a place for the photo shoots and am looking into their art grants to help fund future projects. I look forward to working with creative, inspiring, and (above all) PROFESSIONAL models.
