I believe that artists see the world a little differently, and art is their expression of that perception. I see things, both simple and complex, as being defined by values of contrasting light and darkness.

I'm obsessed with precisely transmitting that perception, via whatever medium is in my hand. This focused realism is usually most effectively rendered in the nakedness of black and white- whether it be inks, graphite, or scratchboard.

The high-contrast, focused images that result from this method are intended to somehow impart a feeling of realness beyond conventional realism.

I'm here to find people with the right look to capture in images (low-tech reference photos) as source material for my art. Photos are usually close-ups, with high-contrast lighting, occasional props and effects to add texture and reflection.
