My name is Aissatou (Ice-a-2) I am 20 years old. Born and raised in Cincinnati, but my family is originally from Senegal which is in West Africa. I am an international affairs major at the university of Cincinnati. I've took interest in modeling mainly at the age of 10 years, I literally use to sign up for so many modeling agencies, they would call my mother everyday until my mom realized I really wanted to become a model and my first step was through new view management. The classes helped a lot but I wondered why should I pay if they want my face? I didn't get any gigs through them so that's where I decided to be optimistic a seek for opportunities on my own whether they were fashion shows, or photo shoots and I enjoyed every bit of experience. I enjoy embracing my melanin because many people don't see the beauty in dark skin. Modeling is where the confidence of my skin comes from. My idol Is my mother because when nobody thought helping me follow my dreams was important she did and she helped encourage me. By the end of the year I see myself having many connections and experience to help pursue my dream. With my dream I also have my plan B. As I stated I am in school majoring in international affairs in 5 years I hope to see myself working in that field as well and helping people to make a change in our corrupt society. I believe that I should be chosen for any opportunity coming my way because I have the desire to take in everything this experience gives me and learn from it to help me become not only a better model but also a better role model and person inside and out.
