Do you generally need a profile when you want to be seen from the front?

I am an experienced Danish photographer with great passion for model photography. Since 2003 I have worked with models, preferably in my own studio.

My specialty is to paint with light. An old and simple technique, using primitive lamps instead of flash or daylight. The technique gives the finished images a dreamy and almost overground expression. The model must be able to handle an exposure time of 30-45 seconds without moving - but it can be done.

There are two principles that I try to live up to. One is LIM (Less Is More), for example, implemented using one piece of light (the sun e.g.) plus a reflector. What else do you need? Old virtues, old-fashioned technique, old-fashioned?

The other is MISS, which has nothing to do with beauty contests, but is a bit in the same category as LIM. “Make it simple, stupid” (or the more friendly version: Keep It Sweet and Simple) - easier said than done when you use a digital camera with (too many) options plus Photoshop including free choice on all shelves. Aperture, time and ISO, we should be well-run.

I always do the retouching myself and try to comply with the principles mentioned above.
