About Me

I recently did a shoot with an amazing photographer who kept telling me I should be a model, that life is short and we should go for what we want, so I decided to give it a try!

I actually went to modeling school and dabbled a bit with modeling at 15 but didn't get far with it in my hometown of Cleveland. Even though I was so very thin, I was told I had too much "baby fat" on my face in my teen photos. Looking back, it was probably healthier not to get too into the modeling industry at such a young, impressionable age. I was happier expressing myself through my appearance my own way, with my own creativity, rather than fitting into what others thought I should be.

I'm currently living in the San Francisco Bay Area but will be in Madrid, Spain from September 2018 through July 2019. I hope to stay in Europe (possibly Norway) after that. I speak fluent French and would also love to work in Paris - I did a year on exchange there for political science, and I remember gazing longingly into the high fashion window displays that lined the streets of my neighborhood, the 6th arrondisement. But even at 26, I felt I was "too old" to model.

My career has mostly been focused on writing. I'm a published novelist, have published articles on women's rights and cultural topics, and I'll be pursuing a master's in marketing when I go to Madrid. I've worked for several progressive nonprofits, and social justice and feminism are very important to me. I consider it a feminist act to start modeling in my mid-thirties. ( :

In terms of projects I'm interested in, I love fashion, especially anything high-fashion, alternative, dark, or with a social justice component (environmentally sustainable, sweatshop-free, feminist). I love Alexander McQueen, Cop Copine, Sonia Rykiel, Coco Teale, and other artistic designers who incorporate a dark and artistic vibe.

That said, I'm open to trying different things, so if you have a project you think I could do, feel free to message me!
