I grew up in Mechanicsville, and always have been a resident of Richmond. I thought I always knew what I wanted until this last year when everything around me came crashing down. I had been married for eleven years, have two gorgeous children, and a job I thought I really wanted. In the matter of 5 months my world was destroyed. I found out that my mom had a major stroke and was unresponsive in the hospital. A month later she lost her fight for her life, and I was the only one there when she took her last breath. A few months later I found out that my wife was sleeping with another woman she works with, who was also married at the time. I was told that she never felt that way about another person, that she never loved me from the beginning, and that she wanted a divorce. Three days after I found out that my marriage was over I attempted suicide. I had to rebuild my life and find out all over again who I truly am. On July 4 2018 I officially came out as transgender, and started hormones on August 12. I found myself, stopped allowing secrets to run my life, and gained a confidence and love I have never experienced in my entire life. Now I have been able to help others in monogamous relationships that have had a spouse cheat, and help the spouse that was effected to work through the pain. I have been added to Richmonds chapter of American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and am helping draw awareness to mental illnesses, especially to LGBTQA youth. I have had the opportunity over the last three months to do several types of shoots as well from outdoor to boudoir. I am eager to see what the future holds for me with a new level of understanding who I am.
