I grew up in Pakistan. I was born in a rural village. It was beautiful. It was peaceful. It was serene. I could run around the hills and the valleys with my brothers. We learned more from nature than from our school. My family left when I was very young. We ran because the politics became too dangerous. I came to America and didn't speak the language, didn't know the culture. Drawing was something I could do that didn't require either. I've been here much longer now than I was in my home. Drawing became a way for me to make my life. I draw figures because they're rooted in nature. What is natural is true, and no one can take that from us.

I'm hoping I can connect with models on the site to continue my figure drawing. They have a truth to express and so do I. I am pursuing gallery representation now and need to continue to make work. I draw mostly, but also paint and sculpt.
