About Me

Most of my work draws from the darker elements of existence. The common thread throughout my photographs, film and other media has always been the mythology of death, hell, and symbols of mortality and immortality. I have always had a fascination with how these dark elements are tied into most of our fears and are hiding in everything we create. The elements by themselves tend to be ubiquitous. Only when presented within the context of normal existence do they take on enough meaning to have effect. I don’t deliberately bring dark subjects into my work. I allow them to reveal themselves through a function of tearing away the unnecessary thus enhancing the messages.
In the Tweet to Art series of works, I look at the ‘twitterverse’ as an alternate reality that many people are choosing to live in. Since it exists and it has virtual form, it can be painted. So much in the way Impressionists took to interpret nature, I am perusing the interpretation of virtual messages that exist in a form that is very new.
