About Me

"Limitations in your photography are in yourself, for what we see is what we are." -- Ernst Haas

I've always been artistic, charcoal on paper, acrylic on canvas, spray paint on walls. But I never thought I could make a living taking photos. And then I did. And capturing the world around me changed mine.

I'd cut class as a teen to cut my teeth on a Canon AE-1 and then disappear into the darkroom for hours. Since then, I've had my work recognized by the Associated Press, Florida Press Club, the Society of Professional Journalists and my parents (who frame and hang some of their favorites).

I studied at Daytona State College Southeastern Center for Photographic Studies and have been honored to return as a guest lecturer in photography and photojournalism there and at Bethune-Cookman University.

I was born in Florida and have lived everywhere from Texas, South Carolina and Turkey thanks to a stint in the U.S. Air Force--before a camera first called my name.

In 2006, I was hired by The Daytona Beach News-Journal where I was lucky enough to cover national sporting events like the Daytona 500 and NFL football, presidential elections, breaking news, special events, enterprise, features, natural disasters and shoot my own flooded neighborhood from my kayak.

As director of photography at Presslaunch -- a video, photo and design house in Ormond Beach, Florida -- I shot and produced still photography, TV commercials and short documentaries for the likes of the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, Hell's Bay Boatworks, former Phildelphia 76ers president Pat Croce and the University of Florida.

I'm currently a photographer at Georgia Tech and a freelance editor at CNN.

And I shoot without limits.
