About Me

Hello! My name is Calvin Ramsay (also known as @CHOBUTTA) and I am a born and raised New York City based artist/model. I've been studying music/working in the arts for the last fifteen years. I attended the Professional Performing Arts High School in Midtown Manhattan for Vocal Music and New York University for Music Education and Economics. I am an R&B singer/songwriter that performs with a six piece band all throughout NYC and have recorded two EP's over the last five years. On top of music, I am also a ballet and hip hop dancer, visual artist, and chef extraordinare. I am at a point in my life where I would love to get signed to an agency, start building my brand and expand more into the modeling industry.

I am very passionate about LGBTQ+ Rights, Woman's Rights, and the Black Lives Matter Movement. As a born and raised New Yorker, I have been apart of/supported the LGBTQ+ community since I was a teenager. I'm one to not judge or discriminate and only surround myself with those that have a similar mentality. Equality is huge to me and will strive for it until justice is served on all grounds. As a proud African American, The Black Lives Matter Movement is also something I am very passionate about. I've also been actively pushing for equality in this movement because it not only benefits me, but those that will come behind me.

Other things I am passionate about include music, culture, the arts, healthy living. I'm very much into health and hygiene as I've realize over time that it is what keeps the body nourished and fully functioning.

I'm empowered by hard workers and people that truly know/love what they do in life. I'm empowered by the arts and all of it's glory. It has been the glue to my crazy puzzle while navigating throughout NYC. I am also very much empowered by my parents. Both immigrants, from Jamaica and Guyana, came to the US with a goal and a mission to break the stereotype. They started from the bottom, raised five kids in the low income section of Jamaica, Queens but somehow manage to always stay positive throughout the entire process. That alone empowers me to reach for the stars and always give 110% on whatever I am passionate about.
