The phone rang. It was the news we'd all expected to hear but dreaded. My grandfather was gone. He was well known and loved throughout our community. A veteran. One man who made a difference. The following week was a whirlwind. And the month that followed felt hollow. Yet, we had the memories, the stories, and the portraits.

My father is a photographer. My grandfather was a photographer. I learned the darkroom and rules of composition from a very early age; yet, I experienced the real significance of a good portrait. The memories they brought to mind. The stories they told.

I created Winsome Portraits not because I am passionate about photography but because I am passionate about the art of capturing and preserving memories for the ones we love.
