When retouching a photograph it is essential to take into account a series of aspects beforehand. In a first contact we will take into account the characteristics of the photograph on which we have to work and the indications on how we have to return it.
First of all, we must check if what we are being asked for is logical and feasible. We must take into account that many times the client does not necessarily know that what he is asking for cannot be done or that the result is not likely to be the one he has in mind. This usually happens with enlargements and the number of pixels that make up an image. For example, the instruction to make a giant poster from a photo shot with a cell phone is very common. We cannot expect that if the customer is not familiar with the technical side of photography, he will know that what he is asking for means that the quality of the image will degrade considerably.
