About Me

ESC Clothing started in 2005 as a side project for Elaine Kies and Steve Iannaccone focusing on making high quality custom designed garments with an independent and local style.

Elaine graduated for the International Academy of Design and Technology in Chicago with a four-year BFA degree in fashion design.  After which she has designed for lines and has also worked in the sales and distribution side of fashion in Chicago.  This experience has given her an intimate knowledge of the fashion industry in a city that despite being ripe with talent is frequently overlooked.  Although being sought after in job markets in both New York and Los Angeles, Elaine has seen the potential of the city she calls home and wants to help turn around the "brain-drain" trend of local talent flooding out to the coasts for work.

Steve is actively working in the research science domain in a laboratory in Lincoln Park.  After earning a degree in Mathematics he started working in a biology lab helping with laser based imaging and microscopy systems including systems based on high frequency pulsed lasers.  He has helped ESC Clothing with his technical eye for detail, graphic design work, and has helped to foster an enthusiastic community online for local Chicago talent through their own website, MySpace, and other social groups.

Together, Elaine and Steve form a good combination of talent, experience, enthusiasm, and determination that is essential to not only generate a successful business, but a fruitful community as well.
